ABOUT · CYMASONIC LABS

We work with sound as a system.

Cymasonic Labs is an applied acoustic-intelligence and music-technology company. From wildlife communication to studio design, immersive audio to music education, we combine research, technology, and creative practice.

01

Why we exist

Sound is too often treated in fragments.

Creative work without measurement. Technical systems without context. Learning systems disconnected from research and practice.

Cymasonic Labs was founded to bring these worlds together. We work with sound as a system, one that moves from real environments, to clear analysis, to work you can put to use.

02

What we do

Five divisions, one discipline.

Each division runs at its own frequency. Hover to pause; tap a card to explore it.

Cymasonic Productions and Cymasonic Records are sister brands, separate studios powered by Cymasonic Labs. Cymasonic Productions ↗ · Cymasonic Records ↗

03

How we work

Every project runs the same arc.

01

Capture

We capture sound where it actually happens, rainforest canopies, studio control rooms, classrooms, city streets. The environment shapes everything that comes after.

02

Prepare

Raw audio gets cleaned and organised. We remove noise, isolate what matters, and structure files so they are ready for serious analysis.

03

Understand

This is where patterns show up. We identify species from their calls, map how sound moves through a space, or find what makes one mix work better than another.

04

Design

Once we understand what is happening, we shape it, an immersive soundscape, acoustic treatment, or an educational experience.

05

Deploy

We test everything, document how it works, and hand it over. Whether it is a field monitoring system or a tool for producers, it works when we are not around.

04

Why the name

Cymasonic.

The name comes from cymatics, the study of how sound creates visible patterns in physical materials. Put a speaker under a metal plate covered in sand, play a frequency, and geometric shapes form. Change the frequency, the pattern changes. Sound is not abstract: it has structure, and physical effects you can see and measure.

That idea sits at the core of everything we do. Sound shapes how animals communicate, how spaces feel, how people learn. We treat it as something to be understood, measured, and deliberately shaped.

Our approach

Four principles, every engagement.

We build complete systems

A microphone placement plan is useless without a plan for the recordings. We think about the whole chain, how we capture affects how we process, which affects what we can deliver.

We measure what matters

Data for its own sake is useless. We agree on what “good” looks like before we pick up a microphone, then measure the things that lead to a decision.

We document everything

If you cannot explain how you got a result, it is not worth much. Commercial work gets research standards; research work gets delivery discipline.

We work as one team

The engineer understands what the researcher needs; the creative knows the constraints; the client is in the conversation from day one. Nobody hides in their specialty.

06

The people behind the lab

Four people run Cymasonic Labs.

Melroy Fernandes

Founder · Chairman & Group CEO

Sound-systems architecture, bioacoustics, research programs

Sharwin Fernandes

President & CBO · CEO, Cyma EdTech Labs

Education strategy, GO LMS and MAX

Sydney Coutinho

Chief Deployment Officer (Group)

Deployments, AV systems, field operations

Srishti Shastri

Group CTO

Technology architecture, AI and ML systems

Behind the four of us is a team of engineers, researchers, producers, and educators who do the daily work across the labs, in the field, in the studio, and in the classroom. Cymasonic Labs runs on them as much as on us.

Work with the lab

We work with people and organizations who take sound seriously. If you need careful work built to last, let’s talk.
